WTA FINALS - QUALIFIED

French Open and Wimbledon champions Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova are the first doubles team to qualify for the BNP Paribas Finals Singapore presented by SC Global. On the back of a pair of Grand Slam titles in 2018, Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova are the first doubles team to qualify for the BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global. The pair captured Roland Garros and Wimbledon this year, becoming the first team to lift both trophies in the same year since Kim Clijsters and Ai Sugiyama did so in 2003. The 22-year-olds also came full-circle at the All-England Club, as they became the first team to ever win the girls’ doubles (2013) and ladies’ doubles titles at Wimbledon. Krejcikova and Siniakova will make their debut at the season-ending event, which runs from Oct. 21-28. Krejcikova and Siniakova first competed together at the ITF level in 2013 and lifted three junior Grand Slam titles that year at Roland Garros, Wimbledon and US Open. The pair began their consistent partnership at the start of 2018, finding instant success by reaching the final in to start the year at the Shenzhen Open. The pair also reached the final at the Miami Open and reached the semifinals at the Qatar Total Open in Doha and the Nature Valley Classic in Birmingham, helping them to become the first of eight doubles teams to secure their spot at the WTA Finals in Singapore. “Barbora and I are very excited and we look forward to some great matches this year in Singapore.” – Katerina SiniakovaSource: http://www.wtatennis.com
